Driveline and chassis technology company ZF Australia Pacific launched its new ZF EcoLife transmission at the Australian Bus + Coach
Driveline and chassis technology company ZF Australia Pacific launched its new ZF EcoLife transmission at the Australian Bus + Coach Show 2009 in Sydney today.
Volvo Bus Australia was recognised at the launch as the first company locally to take delivery of the EcoLife transmission.
A company spokesman says ZF’s new EcoLife will have a huge impact on the local bus industry.
“It is a new design from the ground up and represents a major evolution of the ZF Ecomat series of transmissions, acknowledged as the industry benchmark, which has already been delivered in over 8,000 buses locally,” he says.
EcoLife has been developed specifically with fuel economy and passenger comfort in mind, and is designed for the stresses of modern city buses and coaches.
EcoLife is capable of transmitting up to 2,000 Nm of torque and operating smoothly at oil sump temperatures of up to 120 degrees Celsius. Improved heat economy means oil change intervals are extended to 180,000 km, and service life is also extended, the spokesman says.
ZF is showcasing its new TopoDyn Life transmission control system, the technical service and parts business relating to the new EcoLife transmission, as well as products of its SACHS and LEMFORDER brands, including suspension, clutch and steering components at the show in Sydney.
