Locals from Melbourne’s west will congregate tonight to discuss better bus networks in the region
The Wyndham community says its Sustainable Cities collective at Friends of the Earth Melbourne is holding a ‘Better Buses for Wyndham’ community forum tonight.
The forum will be held at the Tarneit Community Learning Centre from 6PM to 8PM.
The event, which can be found through this link, says the western suburbs of Melbourne have traditionally been left behind when it comes to public transport access.
The collective says better buses is an easy and cheap way for the Victorian government to ensure that communities stay connected while other forms of public transport are still being built.
The speakers at the forum include Senthill Sundaram from Point Cook Action Group, Dr John Stone from Melbourne University and other Wyndham area community members.

There are also 15 candidates for this year’s state election expected to attend the forum from districts such as Werribee, Point Cook, Tarneit and Laverton.
A list of candidates, including representatives from the Liberal, Greens, Australian Labor Party, Independents and Victorian Socialists, are expected to attend pending updates later today.
The collective says there will be opportunities to talk with a diverse group of locals who have been affected by poor public transport infrastructure in the west.
