Once complete, the interchange will service the growing Woden Town Centre and the new CIT Woden Campus, with more than 10,000 commuters expected to pass through daily.
It will also be fully light rail enabled, supporting Canberra’s long-term public transport plans.
While the new interchange is on track to open later this year, the current temporary Woden Bus Interchange will remain in use for the time being.

To allow for the next stage of works, changes to local bus access will take effect from Thursday June 19 2025.
From that date, both the north and south sections of Callam Street will be temporarily closed to buses. Instead, services will enter the temporary interchange via Bowes and Matilda Streets.
Bus stop 2031 on Launceston Street (after Irvine Street) will also close from the first service on June 19 until further notice. Commuters are encouraged to check updated service information at transport.act.gov.au.
The northern section of Callam Street, between Launceston Street and Matilda Street, is expected to reopen to buses later in the year. However, the southern end at Wilbow Street will remain closed to all but construction traffic until the interchange is complete.
Meanwhile, Callam Street between Matilda Street and Bradley Street has been permanently closed to private vehicles to make way for the new facility.
Authorities say they are working to minimise disruption to residents and local businesses during construction.
When finished, the new interchange promises to deliver a modern, accessible, and better-connected transport hub for the Woden community.
