Diesel prices continued their recent downward trend falling for the fourth consecutive week.
Terminal gate pricing data from the Australian Institute of Petroleum shows prices falling in all states excluding Darwin, hovering around the 115 cents per litre mark throughout the week.
Diesel in Melbourne was once again the cheapest in the country, averaging at a price of 113.8 cents per litre.
Brisbane which has in recent month been the home of the nation’s second cheapest diesel was forced to share its tag with Sydney last week, where diesel matched the Queensland capital at an average price of 114 cents per litre.
Diesel in Adelaide was slightly more expensive, finishing the week with averages of 114.4
As usual Darwin topped the list with an average diesel price of 118.7 cents per litre, 3.6 cents higher than Perth which finished as the second most expensive city at 115.1 cents a litre, down 2.2 cents on the previous week.
