VOLVO BUS AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCES TEAM CHANGES

THE SPECIALISED Volvo Bus Australia team has strengthened its fold again in announcing new staff changes recently, it says.

In August, 2019, a new sales and marketing coordinator and a regional sales manager for NSW were announced, both “…further strengthening Volvo’s specialised bus team that are dedicated 100 per cent to supporting bus and coach customers across Australia,” the company states.

While not new to the Volvo Bus team, Stuart Woodward has changed into a regional sales manager role for NSW, working alongside Australasian bus industry stalwart Ray Andrich, visiting and supporting NSW bus and coach operators.

Woodward has more than 14 years’ experience in the industry, having started with Volvo as an apprentice heavy diesel technician in 2005. Since then Woodward has worked in various roles at Volvo, including the past seven years in Perth as Contract and Technical Support manager for Volvo’s contracts with the Public Transport Authority of WA (PTA) and Western Australia customers.

“I am extremely excited to welcome Stuart back to the East Coast, where I know our customers will benefit greatly from his extensive bus and coach knowledge, technical and commercial experience, and genuine love and passion for the industry,” said Lauren Downs, general manager Volvo Bus Australia.

WORTHY SUCCESSOR

In Woodward’s move east, Volvo also announced the promotion of Lee Williams as Woodward’s successor in Western Australia. Formerly working as a Volvo field service engineer supporting Volvo’s local dealer, Truck Centre WA, and WA customers – including the PTA – Williams is well equipped for the role, and has extensive technical expertise having previously also worked with Volvo in the UK, the company states.

“Not only will Lee bring extensive knowledge and product expertise to the Contract and Technical Support manager role, Lee will also be further supported in Perth by two field service engineers, who will provide specialised service and support for the operators there. Again we are extremely proud to say these resources are dedicated solely to bus,” explained Downs.

Kate Hunt officially joined the Volvo Bus team in the role of Sales and Marketing coordinator on 15 July.

Hunt brings to the Volvo Bus team a wealth of event, marketing and sales experience with a career that spans roles in Australia, Malaysia and London.

Most recently Hunt was head of production at an automotive marketing agency, servicing automotive clients including Volvo Cars, Jaguar Land Rover, Renault, and McLaren at the Singapore F1.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Kate to the Volvo Bus team, where we know both our internal sales team and customers will benefit greatly from her outstanding organisation skills, positive and upbeat attitude, and – most importantly – passion and commitment to ensuring a premium customer experience and customer satisfaction,” said Downs.
