Volvo Bus Australia announces strategic talent acquisitions

New team members for Volvo Bus Australia will bolster the major bus and coach brand

Volvo Bus Australia has announced it continues to strengthen its dedicated bus and coach team with the acquisition of three new team members and the promotion of another. Aaron Horton, Diana Prinz and Rory Blignaut all joined the team in June in various customer facing roles.

Volvo Bus Australia says it’s proud to announce that regional service manager Daniel Coleman accepted the role of bodybuild and sales engineering manager.

Coleman has been part of the Volvo Bus team for more than five years as regional service manager, forming excellent customer and stakeholder relationships in that time. Prior to that he has been with the Volvo Group since 2012, previously based at the VCV Newcastle dealership as a field service bus support lead.

Coleman will be joining the Volvo Bus management team, reporting directly to general manager Mitch Peden.

Aaron Horton is taking on the role of Regional Service Manager, responsible for service and technical support to both customers and dealers across the wider Sydney Metro Area.

Horton has been part of the Volvo Group in varying roles for more than 20 years, starting out as a heavy vehicle technician, but soon taking on roles including Workshop Manager and Service Manager.

Horton’s experience with Volvo Bus customers and product means he’s joining the team with a wealth of product knowledge. Volvo says Horton is a natural leader and has a natural flair for developing strong customer relationships and will be based in New South Wales.

Diana Prinz has joined the team in the role of Contract Delivery and Retail Sales Representative for Queensland and the NT. Prinz will support the sales team in Queensland and Northern Territory, providing more face-to-face customer service for the wide range of customers across the regions.

 Diana Prinz

Prinz was most recently Key Account Manager with Volvo Penta Oceania and previous to that was Business Development manager for national and global accounts within the mining, automotive, marine, industrial and software industries. Her passion is for building strong relationships with customers to deliver an exceptional customer experience, with Prinz to be based in Queensland.

Rory Blignaut has joined the Volvo Bus team as Field Service Engineer, working under Lee Williams’ team delivering a high level of service customers in WA – most specifically for Public Transport Authority WA. The field service engineers are responsible for delivering a high level of hands-on support for customers and local dealers.

Blignaut is a qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician and in his most recent capacity as Team Leader at Truck Centre WA, has already been working closely with the Volvo Bus team, and is very familiar with the Volvo bus product. Blignaut will be based in Western Australia.

“Having three new team members join us within a month is again an example of how Volvo is truly leading the bus and coach industry in Australia,” Volvo Bus Australia general manager Mitch Peden says.

“Customers have come to expect an exceptionally high level of service from the Volvo Bus team – so ensuring we have the right resources in place to deliver on that customer service commitment is vital.

“Developing and maintaining strong business partnerships with our customers means being present to offer real, practical, support to deliver safety and quality outcomes. Having Daniel take on this new challenge within the team and having Aaron, Diana and Rory join the team is a testament to how dedicated we are to deliver on our commitment to these business partnerships.”
