Vogel adds 26 new Citaro hybrids to fleet

German operator Vogel has received a big order of new hybrid Mercedes-Benz buses

German city bus and charter company Werner Vogel is expanding its modern bus fleet with a new order of Mercedes-Benz Citaro city buses.

Daimler Bus says Vogel has bought 26 new, environmentally-friendly hybrid models.

The new Citaro hybrid vehicles will be operated on behalf of Erlanger Stadtwerke AG (ESTW) on various lines in Höchstadt, located in Germany’s Middle Franconia region.

The buses come equipped with 35 seats and room for 74 standing passenger, as well as the latest safety systems onboard the two axle vehicle.

The safety systems also includes Sideguard Assist with pedestrian detection, which is a useful assistance system for drivers, especially in city centres as well as smaller towns.

Founded in 1959, Werner Vogel is one of the largest privately-owned bus companies in northern Bavaria, with more than 100 vehicles and 130 employees, and provides regular bus service as well as charter buses.
