Virgin Blue’s domestic passenger numbers for September decreased by 1.5 percent over the previous year, while international numbers continued their upward trend.

According to a company statement to ASX on Friday (October 30), the airline’s traffic, measured by Revenue Passenger Kilometres (RPKs) decreased by 0.7 percent while capacity, measured by Available Seat Kilometres (ASKs) decreased by 4.9 percent over the same period.

Meanwhile, revenue load factor was up 3.5 points from the previous year.

International passenger numbers for the month increased by an incredible 44.7 percent over the previous year.

Virgin Blue traffic increased by 220.1 percent while capacity was up by 210.4 percent over the same period.

Revenue load factor was up 2.4 points from the previous year.

On time performance was up 3.5 points to 82.9 percent, compared to 79.4 percent in the previous year.
