A new bus interchange has been built in north Victorian town Echuca as part of a $400,000 rail-station upgrade.

Victorian Public Transport Minister Terry Mulder yesterday announced passengers using Echuca’s rail station now have parking for more than 70 cars as well as designated disabled parking spaces, a drop-off zone, and a new bus interchange.

Echuca station previously had a gravel car park that was prone to puddles and flooding.

“Echuca station is a popular V/Line hub for passengers travelling by train or coach to Bendigo, Melbourne, Shepparton, Benalla and Adelaide,” Mulder says in a statement.

The car park also has improved walkways and signage, and tactile surfaces to assist people with vision impairment.

The upgraded car park is now open.
