VDI officially opens Yutong dealership in Perth

VDI has confirmed that the Yutong dealership in Perth is officially open to the public as Yutong further expands into WA

VDI Australia has announced that it has officially opened its latest Yutong dealership in Perth, WA as it continues its successful expansion into new markets.

In a ceremony that was attended by local state member and assistant WA transport minister David Michael, VDI made clear its commitment to WA customers, comprising high quality bus products, including a fast expanding electric range, plentiful parts supply and service reliability.

VDI first announced in May that it was planning on opening a new branch in Perth to cater to the growing mining, school and charter markets.

Yutong buses and coaches will be sold and serviced in WA from its newly established VDI outlet at 153 Abernethy Road, Belmont.

This site will be led by general manager Mike Kennedy, as part of VDI’s company owned and operated national distribution model. VDI forms part of the Queensland-based CaPTA Group (Cairns and Port Trips and Attractions) that is owned and operated by the Woodward family.

The news is another major boost for Yutong vehicles in Australia as it continues growing its reputation as a leading bus and coach choice for local operators.

The new VDI dealership will allow Yutong buses to become more readily available to mining services companies, tourism and school bus operators in WA.

As part of the official opening, VDI has confirmed that five Yutong models, including the fully electric C12E coach and the D7E bus, will be sold in WA from Q4 this year.

“Last year, VDI Australia further progressed its company owned and operated sales and service outlets model for Yutong buses, including right here in WA.” Mike Kennedy told ABC.

“It resulted in three months of flat-out work to get this new dealership set up.”

The team first moved into the new site on January 3 this year, with the new 4,300 square metre site offering space for offices, parts and service workshops and storage areas to house Yutong buses and coaches.

As a key commitment to its customers, VDI has ensured its spare parts supplies are fully stocked as it continues its retail and servicing of Yutong buses throughout Australia’s west coast.
