Fuso Port Melbourne is mourning the passing of well-known bus and coach industry sales consultant Peter Lenon.
Fuso Port Melbourne general manager Shane Baines says Lenon was “standing pillar” of Fuso Port Melbourne for “so long”, starting his tenure with Austrans back in May 2006.
The business underwent many changes in company and dealership names, going from Austrans to Adtrans, AP Eagers, Velocity Vehicle Group, Whitehorse Truck & Bus and then to Fuso Port Melbourne.
Baines says Lenon remained respected at Fuso Port Melbourne among his colleagues and throughout the Fuso and Daimler Truck and Bus Australia network, his customers who became friends and his suppliers that became friends right across Australia.
“Peter’s name is etched in stone as Australia’s number one selling Rosa salesman year after year after year – his sales of BCI & Yutong are also well noted,” Baines told ABC.

“Peter had a wonderful career with us and became such a successful salesman winning many accolades. We are sure he had fond memories and we were lucky to share some of those memories with him.
“He certainly was a character, a strong willed individual with a heart of gold with many tales to tell throughout his colourful career.
“From bus conferences and bus shows to the travelling road shows that all the bus guys use to do, it always ended with stories of laughter and prowess.
“All of us at Fuso Port Melbourne and VVG will miss you dearly.”
Vale Peter Lenon.
