TRS continues growing spare parts presence in air-conditioning servicing sector

With more than four decades of HVAC servicing expertise, TRS is now enhancing its spare parts capabilities to become a true one-stop shop for bus air-conditioning unit support

Since its inception more than 40 years ago, TRS has led the way when it comes to air-conditioning unit servicing for heavy vehicles. Starting with trucks and emerging as a leader in the refrigeration services sector, TRS has become a major player in the bus and coach industry for a wide range of reasons.

While TRS’ safety emphasis has seen it be a reliable and efficient partner for many bus and coach operators in New South Wales through its St Peters branch, TRS is also a popular option for air-conditioning servicing due to its bus spare parts capabilities.

“Bus spare parts is a major focal point of TRS’ business,” TRS St Peters branch manager Paul Wilson told ABC.

“Our large serviced-based work means TRS carries a large inventory of bus parts for a variety of bus HVAC brands.”

TRS’ bus spare parts holdings include a large inventory of Thermo King bus parts to ensure the many Thermo King units around Australia are maintained efficiently. On top of this, TRS has expanded its spare parts range for the bus sector to include parts for brands such as Denso, Coachair, Hispacold, Spheros and many more.

Yet the investment in servicing for buses isn’t just solely to do with stocking a wide range of spare parts – TRS has invested in its team to support any customer needs as they emerge.

“We have 16 staff involved in supporting bus parts and assisting to provide customers with stock that meets their spare parts requirements,” Wilson says.

“The team of 16 consists of parts interpreters, overseas and local procurement specialists, warehouse staff that pick and despatch orders and local delivery drivers to ensure the parts quickly reach customers.”

The parts in TRS’ transit sector has become a powerhouse when it comes to air-conditioning service support. The wide range available, combined with the staff dedication and solid processes, means TRS can quickly dispatch the right parts to customers to get HVAC units fixed and back on the roads again in no time.

While Wilson knows TRS is onto a winner with this in-depth servicing focus that extends to spare parts, he’s adamant that the TRS team will continue working on its processes and stock holdings to keep more customers around its service areas satisfied moving forward.

Whether it be through constant supply networks or smart procurement that leads to lower costs, TRS is working on the little aspects of spare parts supply to make air-conditioning more efficient for bus and coach customers.

“We have critical overseas air freight shipments coming weekly, so anything we don’t have in stock can be quickly sourced in most cases, depending on availability,” he says.

“Volume discounts from our suppliers result in very competitive pricing being passed onto our customers, making buying spare parts easier.”
