Brisbane commuters access real-time information on CityGlider service following Trip Tracker's launch earlier this year

TransLink’s trip-tracking real-time information system is now operating on Brisbane’s CityGlider buses following the launch of the technology on Logan buses earlier this year.
The Trip Tracker system began running on CityGlider buses yesterday and will continue until mid-2013 as part of a trial to scope feasibility for a roll-out across Queensland.
Developed by technology provider Init, Trip Tracker was launched on Clarks Logan City buses at the Logan Hyperdome in July and was designed to track buses for passenger convenience.
Transport Minister Scott Emerson says the technology has so far been well-received on the Clarks Logan City service.
“The pilot real-time project is proving successful on Clarks Logan City buses and it is great to now broaden the benefits of Trip Tracker to include CityGlider – one of the busiest bus routes in Queensland,” he says.
As part of the system, real-time journey information is available onboard buses, with display screens providing route information and automated announcements about upcoming stops.
Passengers can also access real-time bus travel information online and with smart phones.
CityGlider is a jointly funded by the State Government and Brisbane City Council operating every five to 15 minutes between Teneriffe and West End.
