April 18, 2011

TransLink Acting CEO Matt Longland says bus, train and ferries will operate to special public holiday timetables during the Easter long weekend.

He says most TransLink operators will run a Sunday timetable on the public holidays Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday the next Tuesday’s Anzac Day holiday.

“TransLink services will run to a regular Saturday timetable on Saturday April 23 except for Caboolture Bus Lines which will run to a Sunday timetable and CityCat and CityFerry services which will run to a weekend and public holiday timetable,” Longland says.

“Free travel is available for ticketholders heading to the Queensland Reds and New South Wales Waratahs game at Suncorp Stadium this Saturday night on any Brisbane Transport or Queensland Rail services.”

He says special train and bus services will be in place for Anzac Day dawn ceremonies and events on April 25.

“There will also be additional train services operating from Boondall station for the Justin Bieber sold-out concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Tuesday April 26.

“Public transport is a cheap alternative to driving but we’re encouraging customers to familiarise themselves with altered timetables in their local area.”

There is also scheduled track work on the Ferny Grove line between Mitchelton and Ferny Grove stations from 8pm Thursday April 21 until the first train on Wednesday, April 27 – buses will replace trains during this time.
