BREAKING – The contract renewal means Swan Transit will continue operating in Bunbury and Busselton for the next decade

Transit Systems has revealed it has been awarded a major 10-year contract renewal with the Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia.

Operating locally as Swan Transit, the operator will continue running services for Bunbury and Busselton Regional Town bus service customers through the contract following a highly competitive tender process.

Swan Transit’s local operations include two depots and a fleet of 72 buses, with 102 dedicated employees working in the region.

“We are committed to delivering reliable and efficient transport solutions for the communities of Bunbury and Busselton,” Transit Systems CEO Michael McGee says.

Swan Transit Managing Director Brian Thompson says the renewed contract was a win for the whole team.

“This contract renewal is a significant win for our locally based team, and it speaks to the hard work and dedication of our employees,” Thompson says.

“Our 102 staff members are the backbone of our operations, and their commitment ensures that we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of both the PTA and the communities we serve.

“We look forward to continuing to partner with the PTA to improve services to local schools, reducing overcrowding and ensuring single journeys with no transfers.”
