Do you know someone in the bus and coach industry who deserves recognition? Now is the time to nominate them for one of the ten awards on offer at the first Australasian Bus & Coach Transit Awards
Starting on March 21, 2024 in Sydney, the Australasian Bus & Coach Transit Awards will proudly shine a light on the Australasian region’s bus and coach manufacturers, distributors operators and suppliers.
On a night that will showcase the innovative products, technology and programs that seek to promote core standards around safety, efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Nominations for the Transit Awards are now open on the Awards’ website.
Nominating is free and must be completed using the form on the Awards’ website before Friday December 8, 2023.
The nominations must have been introduced or implemented from July 1, 2022 – remember to complete the nomination in one sitting as it can’t be saved and reopened at a later date.
All products and/ or technologies must be manufactured and/ or commercially available in Australia, with supporting documentation welcomed, as a high-resolution image must accompany the nomination.
All finalists will be required to have a representative at the Gala Awards evening should they be successful.
Nominations are now open for these 10 awards:
- Rising Star of the Year – This category recognises an individual aged 35 years or younger at the date of nominations closing, who has impressed their colleagues and counterparts with their contribution and impact to their organisation, and excellence in service. They perform beyond expectations or their defined role, and/or have established programs for change with demonstrable outcomes.
- Industry Leader Award – This category recognises any leader who holds a senior person (executive, manager, director, or equivalent) in a private, not-for-profit, or government organisation who has effectively shaped their business’ success, delivered financial growth, significantly and positively impacted the business’ culture, and championed the industry widely.
- Woman of the Year Award – This category recognises a woman in the industry who has driven change and continues to do so, leading to progress in breaking down barriers and creating new career prospects for the next generation.
- Operational Excellence Award – This category recognises an individual or team that has achieved demonstrable improvements in efficiency, best practice OHS, and impeccable records. Nominees must demonstrate improvements in efficiency, show best practice processes, and provide examples of achievements pertaining to best practice that goes beyond standard practice. The relevant time period for the supporting evidence must be within the two year period of the nominations’ closing date.
- Sustainability Initiative of the Year – This category recognises a company with a product, technology, system, initiative or project that has developed or carried out an innovative, environmentally focused sustainable program to protect, preserve and/or rehabilitate the natural environment, contributing to decarbonisation and/or reducing waste and/or waste emissions. The relevant time period must be within two years of the nomination closing date.
- Safety Program Award – The category recognises a program, project or initiative aimed at promoting and improving safety, either within a business or across the broader bus and coach industry. The relevant time period is 12 months before the nominations closing date.
- Technology Solution Award – This category recognises a supplier of technology to an OEM or operator that improves a process, delivering tangible benefits across financial, safety or sustainability measurements. The technology must have been made available for use within the two years prior to the nomination closing date.
- Operator of the Year – This category recognises a fleet operator that has proven to achieve high levels of growth through workplace engagement and investment in its employees, improved safety, and the securing or renewing of major contracts. Nominees must show examples of increased productivity, growth, and employee satisfaction.
- NextGen Award – This category recognises a company working to attract young people to the Australasian bus and coach industry through a formalised program or initiative, such as partnering with a school or higher education facility, a graduate program, or grants/funding programs.
- Distributor of the Year – This category recognises a distributor of an OEM that has proven to achieve high levels of growth through workplace engagement and investment in its employees, improved safety, and the securing or renewing of major contracts. Nominees must show examples of increased productivity, growth, and employee satisfaction.
