Transdev Australia is celebrating winning its second straight bus driver of the year award from Translink in the south east Queensland division
A driver for Transdev Australia has taken home the Translink 2023 South East Queensland bus driver of the year award, giving Transdev two consecutive winners of the award.
Sue Bishop won the award at the recent QBIC Conference in Cairns in late April for her dedication to driving.
The awards highlight drivers who have excelled in customer service. With a professional driving career spanning 55 years, Bishop has been driving buses for 33 years, with 11 years spent driving buses for Transdev in Brisbane. She loves life behind the wheel.
“Driving has made my life happier and 99 per cent of the year I’m just as happy to be at work as I am at home,” Bishop says.
Transdev Australia says Bishop’s strong customer focus, friendly smile and professional service has made her a favourite among commuters, giving her a loyal passenger following.

She enjoys a lot of community support from the close-knit Southern Moreton Bay Island community of Macleay Island, where she lives and also runs a pet grooming business.
Transdev Queensland managing director Mark McKenzie praised Bishop for winning the award for 2023.
“Sue is consistently providing customer service beyond expectations and is held in very high regard by her passengers and fellow colleagues, especially within the Redland island communities,” he says.
Following Bishop’s award, John Shackle from Wide Bay Transit won the regional bus driver award, while Stonehenge Action Group’s Deb Porter won the School Bus prize from Translink.
