Queensland’s successful government-backed transport skills program has been nominated for another award, this time at the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards.
The Transport and Logistics Workforce Advisory Group, or TLWAG, beat other industry sectors to win the recent Queensland Premier’s Innovation in Skilling Award at the Queensland Training Awards.
The TLWAG model has long been admired by other states and was recently adopted as a benchmark under a national transport policy framework.
Sydney-based express operator Direct Couriers and Toll subsidiary NQX have also been recognised in finalists for the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards.
Heavy vehicle manufacturers Western Star and Volkswagen have also been nominated for handling and storage excellence.
The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) will hand out the annual awards, sponsored by SupplyChain Review, in Melbourne next month.
