Discerning tastes come with supreme appreciation for the finer things in life. Add in a need to move your posse from A to B in style and nothing but VIP-cool status counts. Kanga Coachlines knew what it wanted - and how to get it.
A new, luxurious long-distance Volvo coach under Coach Concepts body is attracting the selective tastes of political dignitaries, elite sporting teams, and welcoming any high-end corporate clients and celebrities to Adelaide and beyond.
Kanga Coachlines’ Signature Series B11R three-axle coach best showcases the city sights in premium luxury, safety and comfort, the company states.
The flagship vehicle is one of the most modern of its kind in Australasia to date and in an exclusive High Gloss Black with premier ‘black as night’ window tinting, the Coach Concepts design brings Limousine cool to the Mawson Lakes-based Kanga Coachlines fleet – a favourite of the Adelaide Crows football team.
Kanga Coachlines has more than 30 years’ experience transporting customers throughout South Australia and beyond, boasting one of the newest and safest fleets in the country with in excess of 45 buses and coaches.
“I wanted to continue to push the limits within the bus and tourism industry. I wanted to do something which was more exciting and innovative than what is usually out there in the market. It’s pioneering, but I am confident it will work and give passengers an amazing experience,” explained Julian Roeger, CEO of Kanga.
“It caters to the high-end touring, global celebrity visits, sporting teams and corporate partners who are needing to travel into Adelaide for big events or work conferences, plus also those based here wanting to travel in comfort, safety and style interstate,” he added.
Seating capacity and floor space adjustability means the internal layout can be customised to suit all needs – just a few seats and loads of room to walk around, or up to 46 sumptuous plush leather low-slung Styleride seats and plenty of legroom still for even the longest intrastate or interstate journeys.
Even better, if you are a coffee lover, foodie or just celebrating a special event then the convenient kitchenette at the rear will delight most aficionados, detailed with first-class facilities – and highlighted by natural sunlight through the sleek glass roof above.
WHY VOLVO?
“We love the reliability and the strong global brand that is Volvo. We chose Volvo because it was about everything that goes on behind the scenes, like the support. Volvo is a family – it’s knowing that I have friends and such support behind me that counts,” Roeger said.
Drivers and operators will love the handling and efficiency of the Volvo B11R three-axle chassis, he says, which boasts the award-winning Volvo I-Shift 12-speed manual gearbox with automatic gear changing system. The I-Shift transmission is factory-prepared for installation with or without a compact retarder, plus features different program packages that optimise the bus for its application area, the company states.
The 11-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel D11C engine, with turbocharger and intercooler, produces 450hp(332kW)@1600-1900rpm and 2150Nm@950-1400rpm, which makes it ideal for tackling the various inclines and hills in beautiful wine regions, or coasting along effortlessly down country highway stretches, it says.
The I-Shift transmission is smart, innovative and adaptive to all terrains and conditions. It allows you to choose between fully automatic gear-changes or manual selection, and has a performance mode with a kick-down function that utilises the engine’s capacity to the maximum, making it a pleasure for drivers to operate, says Volvo.
A range of power ratings and alternative suspensions provide flexibility and combine technical quality with passenger comfort and lifecycle productivity. Volvo’s modern powerful engines, fuel efficiency and environmental care, add sustainability to the B11R package, it adds.
Volvo’s renowned road behaviour and driveability allow the driver to stay alert and focused. Bus operators – and passengers – will benefit from this, and from Volvo’s top position in reliability and safety, according to the company.
So just how will Kanga Coachlines spread the word about its exclusive Signature Series black coach?
“We want to take the coach to do personal visits. I believe that photos or images do not do this vehicle justice – it needs to be seen to be believed, so keep a lookout for our Signature Series coach on an Adelaide road near you soon.”
