Diesel prices continued their recent downward trend falling for the eight consecutive time during the week ending October 11, 2009.
Terminal gate pricing data from the Australian Institute of Petroleum shows prices in all states apart from Darwin hovering around the 109.9 cents per litre mark throughout the week.
Diesel in Melbourne as per usual was the cheapest in the country, averaging at a price of 108.7 cents per litre and was closely followed by Brisbane which averaged 108.9 cents.
Sydney and Adelaide were not far behind in the standings, with prices of 109.2 and 109.3 cents per litre respectively.
As usual Darwin topped the list with an average diesel price of 113.5 cents per litre, 3.7 cents higher than Perth which finished as the second most expensive city at 109.8 cents a litre.
