The annual TasBus Conference has been run over the weekend, with the Apple Isle’s bus sector convening to celebrate life members and discuss future strategies for the industry.
Over the event, the association unveiled a refreshed brand, website and five-year strategy while also exploring with delegates how AI can streamline and strengthen transport businesses.
“It was also a valuable opportunity to reconnect with industry colleagues, strategic partners, politicians and government representatives to discuss the road ahead for Tasmania’s passenger transport sector,” TasBus executive director Luke Doyle says.

“We’re proud to have raised funds and awareness for JCP Youth, our charity partner for the conference.”
The event also saw TasBus recognise long-serving contributors to the sector, with 20, 30 and 40 year milestones awarded.
The association’s achiever of the year award went to Manions Coaches operations manager Rachel Hodge, while Red Decker Hobart managing director Jonathon Gregory was awarded TasBus life membership.
“This award is in recognition of his longstanding and significant contribution to the Tasmanian bus industry,” Red Decker Hobart says.
“He was also awarded a 30 year of service to the transport sector certificate. It came as a complete surprise and he was very appreciative to receive this honour.”
