The community forum will discuss ways to improve Brimbank’s bus network

The Sustainable Cities collective at Friends of the Earth Melbourne says it is holding a ‘Better Buses for Brimbank’ community forum tonight.

The forum aims to discuss ways to improve Brimbank’s bus services while making them more sustainable.

The meeting will be held at STACC St. Albans from 6.30PM to 8.30PM with the event accessible via the Melbourne Friends of the Earth website.

Speakers include Dr. John Stone from the University of Melbourne, Akii Ngo from Disability Resource Centre, Greater Sunshine Community Alliance’s Laura Aston, Graeme Bore from Cairnlea community group and Link community transport’s Danny David.

The event organisers say there will also be 13 or more candidates from this year’s state election who are expected to attend as part of a six-person panel Q&A session at the end.

The event will also be attended by Mayor of Brimbank Jasmine Nguyen, Deputy Mayor Thuy Dang and six other councillors.

There will be opportunities to talk with a diverse group of locals who have been affected by poor PT infrastructure in the west.
