After fairly spectacular numbers in October, new bus and coach deliveries slid back into double digits last month, exclusive ABC data reveals
Deliveries decreased in November with 91 brand-new buses delivered throughout Australia.
This pales in comparison to Ocrtober, during which 106 new bus deliveries were reported by manufacturers, representing a decrease of 15 vehicles.
Volvo led the way even though its deliveries decreased from 35 in October to 24 in November.
Scania followed with 20, keeping on par with last month’s tally.
Bustech and Yutong had a strong month, reporting 10 and nine deliveries respectively, with Hino and BCI following on seven and six, while other manufacturers delivered less than six vehicles each.
In terms of body builders, Volgren led the pack on 30, that number consistent with the 31 delivered in October.
Bustech was next on 12, then Yutong on nine and BCI on seven.
The other builders delivered less than six vehicles respectively, with Custom Bus in particular dropping from 17 to five month-on-month.
For air-conditioning suppliers, Thermo King continued its dominance with 49 deliveries nationwide, an increase on 44 the month earlier.
Spheros was involved in the delivery of 13 units, while Yutong and and Coachair posted nine and seven respectively, and the rest less than six.
In a change from the usual hierarchy, Western Australia led the states on 26 per cent, closely followed by New South Wales (25 per cent), Queensland (21 per cent) and Victoria (20 per cent).
