SkyBus partners with Visit Victoria for tourism run

Kinetic has announced the new partnership that will allow more visitors to Victoria to explore the state via bus

Kinetic has unveiled that SkyBus has entered into a new partnership with Visit Victoria to promote the best that Melbourne and Victoria can offer.

Kinetic says the partnership recognises the important role that SkyBus plays in Victoria’s tourism industry and will see some of the state’s most iconic tourist attractions and experiences promoted onboard SkyBus services and at Tullamarine Airport.

SkyBus general manager Jason Balkin says partnering with Visit Victoria complemented the important role the iconic service plays in welcoming visitors to the state.

“SkyBus is one of the first experiences many visitors have when they arrive in Melbourne and we always try to make it a positive one,” Balkin says.

“No matter if they are here to attend a major event, indulge in our renowned restaurants or explore our world class wineries, our team have a deep sense of local pride offering a friendly welcome and connecting them to all the amazing experiences Victoria has to offer.

“For 45 years, SkyBus has played an important role in Victoria’s tourism industry, connecting visitors between the airport, the city and beyond. We are proud ambassadors for everything you can see and do, and now passengers can learn about it while they enjoy their journey with us.”

In 2019, SkyBus’s contribution to the tourism sector was recognised when the airport express service was inducted into the Victorian Tourism Industry Council Hall of Fame after winning gold at the awards for the fourth consecutive year.

This year, Kinetic says tourism spending in Victoria reached an all-time high of $36.1 billion, with Melbourne one of the top destinations for visitors.

The surge in visitors to Victoria has seen SkyBus reintroduce its popular Peninsula Express service which offers travellers regular, reliable and affordable travel between Melbourne Tullamarine Airport and Melbourne’s bayside suburbs.

Since its return in December 2022, more than 100,000 people have utilised the much-loved service.

SkyBus’s flagship Melbourne City Express continues to offer fast, frequent and affordable transport between Southern Cross Station and Tullamarine Airport with departures every 10 minutes at peak times and adult tickets from just $18 each way on a return ticket.
