BREAKING: Following its acquisition of the Transit Australia Group (TAG), the parent company of air transit provider Skybus has relaunched itself as the Kinetic Group, it’s reported recently.
The post TAG buyout – touted as Australia’s largest private bus transaction – rebranding is a move that, “…reflects the growing scale of its operations across the country and overseas”, the entity states.
Skybus’s services in Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and New Zealand, and TAG’s scale of operations in Queensland and New South Wales, leave the Kinetic Group “…well placed to realise its ambition of expanding to more markets while retaining its strong commitment to world-class customer service and experience innovation, which its businesses have become renowned for.”
As well as Skybus, Kinetic now has urban, regional and school mass transit companies Sunbus and Surfside Buslines, which operate government-contracted metropolitan and regional routes throughout Queensland and in northern New South Wales.
Under Kinetic leadership, Skybus has successfully transformed from a small airport shuttle service established in Melbourne over 41 years ago to an iconic world-class airport transit operation, relied on by more than 5 million customers per year across 15 services at five locations in Australia and New Zealand, the company confirms.
The Kinetic Group – majority owned by Optrust and formerly operated as AATS – advises that its recent investments have embedded within its businesses the capability of delivering major transportation projects for government and private sector clients, both in Australia as well as overseas.
According to the company it will also continue to explore opportunities to deploy its record of delivering exceptional customer-first transit services to benefit customers in new markets.
