A drunken school bus driver heads to court after colliding with a ute in Sydney’s south

NSW police have charged a school bus driver with drink-driving after a crash in Sydney’s south on Monday morning (February 18).
At about 6.20am, a school bus and Toyota utility were involved in a minor collision at the intersection of the Princes Highway at Kirrawee.
The 17-year-old male driver of the utility was not hurt but his 18-year-old male passenger was taken to Sutherland Hospital with bruised ribs and soreness.
The 69-year-old male driver of the bus was not injured and was breath tested at the scene.
The bus driver returned a mid-range reading of 0.103.
The private company bus was empty at the time of the crash. The driver was on his way to pick-up students from various locations throughout the Sutherland Shire to take them to school in the eastern suburbs.
The bus driver from Rockdale was charged with mid-range drink-driving and is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on March 21.
