Scania Australia’s Julian Gurney has stepped down from his role as Bus and Power Solutions director of sales, making the move over to UK-based bus manufacturer Wrightbus.

Gurney will be jumping into the role of head of sales for Australia and New Zealand for the company, after working for more than 15 years at Scania.

It is unknown at this time who will be filling his role at Scania.

Gurney also recently stepped down as the Bus Industry Confederation Vice-chair to take on this new challenge.

“We wish to acknowledge Julian Gurney’s outstanding contribution to the Bus Industry Confederation Council and the Suppliers Group,” a BIC statement reads.

“Julian represented the best interest of the industry in a range of forums and meetings with senior executive, ministers and members of parliament.

“He provided factual and compelling insights that made governments take notice when we advocated for change and action on the manufacturing and supply sectors in crisis.

His position on the Council is consequently vacant, with BIC soon starting the process to fill the vacancy.

“We wish Julian all the best and hope to continue to engage with him in his new role at Wrightbus.”
