Scania says its new training centre will help produce the next line of skilled Scania heavy vehicle workers
Scania New Zealand has announced that it has opened its new National Training Development Centre in Christchurch to facilitate the future growth of Scania workers.
Scania says the new centre will ensure workers are able to work with Scania’s latest technological developments to provide its high-quality customer service while also becoming more efficient.
The facility includes factory supported training models alongside structured training and development programs for all requirements.
Scania technical training instructor Russell Dixon says the new centre will help Scania increase its factory-based training as it continues pushing new technology and training requirements.

“This allows Scania to drive the shift to a sustainable transport solution as the specialist training leads to greater uptime for customers’ trucks plus greater vehicle reliability while ensuring we are providing the best service possible throughout our service network,” Dixon says.
Scania services director Raul Rodriguez Almaguer says the new centre is a valuable resource for Scania New Zealand’s technicians, apprentices and customers.
“The training program provided at the centre comes from Scania’s Sweden headquarters and is at a global standard of excellence,” Almaguer says.
“We’re extremely proud to be offering this international level of expertise to our technicians and apprentices.”
