NSW operator Sapphire Coast Buslines (SCB) has announced the acquisition of two local bus companies as it continues growing its presence across the state.
SCB has acquired both Eden Buses and Beresfords Bega, following on from SCB’s earlier purchase of Scarletts Bus Service in October last year.
The expansion showcases SCB’s commitment to enhancing local job opportunities and transport services in the Bega Valley region, with managing director Jamie Klemm highlighting the collaboration between the family-owned businesses.
He says the acquisitions are a significant move towards growth and loyalty to the region.
As part of the purchase, a substantial number of employees from Eden Buses and Beresfords Buslines will transition to roles at SCB, recognising the brands’ expertise and dedication to passenger safety, particularly when it comes to student welfare and community connections.
SCB says the acquisitions enhance its service offerings while enriching its driver training program.
“SCB is dedicated to upskilling drivers from a C Class Licence to an MR Licence, providing valuable career paths and promoting continuous skill development,” Klemm says.
“This initiative aligns with SCB’s broader mission to nurture local talent and create new career avenues within the region.
“We wish Ken and Dianne from Eden Buses and Warren and Jenny from Beresfords Bega all the best in their future ventures. As owners of Sapphire Coast Buslines, we express our appreciation for their service to students and the community through their work in this industry.”
