More than one million real-time bus apps have been downloaded in New South Wales since their release late last year, according to
NSW Transport Minister Gladys Berejiklian.
The NSW Government released three real-time bus apps – TripView, TripGo and Arrivo Sydney – in December last year.
The apps contain data spanning
about 8,200 stops, more than 1,900 buses and almost 1,200 routes across Sydney.
“Real-time information for buses is changing the way public transport customers travel – they are now able to plan ahead, not just by looking at the timetable but by actually seeing where their bus is located on the route, and its estimated time of arrival,” Berejiklian says.
The apps’ release followed a competition for Australian app developers to create the technology last year.
