Queensland Thermo King will showcase the latest of its bus and coach air-conditioning products at the Bus & Coach Expo
Since 2003, Queensland Thermo King has provided air conditioning units to the latest bus models. Nearly 20 years since its inception, the group continues to supply its products to bus manufacturers around Australia.
As it prepares for another Bus & Coach Expo, national sales manager Jamie Dunlop says Queensland Thermo King will display it latest model for the full electric buses.
“We’ll be displaying our electric E1200 LW unit,” Dunlop told ABC. “It’s a new full electric unit that we’ve been very excited about.”
Dunlop says the new product is proof that Queensland Thermo King is adapting to the sustainable transition that is falling over the entire industry. After seeing the likes of New South Wales implement sweeping mandates on zero-emission buses, Dunlop says his company has moved to provide sustainable air-conditioning options for new models.
“We’ve now supplied a large number of our electric E1200 units into the market and our new E1200LW is lighter in weight than our previous models,” Dunlop says. “But this will be the first model we’ve displayed after producing electric units for around four years now.
“This new model we’ll show is the latest in our electric A/C range. It’s smaller in size, lighter in weight and more condensed, which customers and body builders are always happier about.”

While it showcases its electric model, Queensland Thermo King is still supplying its full range of units for diesel buses and the same electric units for hydrogen buses, with one unit currently onboard a trial bus in NSW. While the company continues to provide options for different bus energy markets, Dunlop says the Expo is the perfect time to find out which models are working the best with customers.
“The Expo will be geared around the clean energy future,” Dunlop says. “I think everyone will display similar products around electric or hydrogen units or vehicles.
“But ultimately it’ll be good to see everyone out and about after not being able to see anybody for some time.”
