The Queensland School Bus Alliance (QSBA) is inviting operators to attend a “Hot Topics” workshop in Brisbane next month.
QSBA Chief Executive Lorraine Douglas-Smith says the program will include a number of compliance issues.
“As a result of Public Transport Audits, QSBA has concern over the issuing of both Section 100 notices and contract breaches with regard to school service contracts,” she says.
“Our aim on the day will be to address these issues with departmental staff and to gain perhaps some better guidelines for operators in regard to meeting both legislative requirements and contract key performance criteria.”
Speakers will also cover the new Federal Industrial Relations Act and the modernisation of that Award.
Douglas-Smith says other current issues on the agenda will cover recording keeping for operators using standard hours under fatigue management, the current situation with regard to STAS and SchoolBUS funding and community transport opportunities.
Operators interested in attending the workshop should contact the QSBA Secretariat.
The workshop will be held in Brisbane on Monday, October 19, 2009.
