For the third year running heritage QOCS buses will form an eye-catching part of Brisbane Open House this weekend
The Queensland Omnibus and Coach Society (QOCS) has confirmed it will once again partner with the organisers of Brisbane Open House to provide visitors with free shuttle bus services.
QOCS will provide heritage buses to give attendees the opportunity to ride on a selection of former Brisbane City Council buses across the weekend of July 15 and 16.
It’ll be the third consecutive Open House event that QOCS will provide services for to help attendees move easily between the venues in and around the Brisbane CBD.
QOCS will run two bus services on the weekend, including a City Loop and a Herston Shuttle that will operate each half-hour, departing from Adelaide Street (Stop 21) between 9AM and 4PM each day.
QOCS president Nick Wilson says the City Loop will replicate Transport for Brisbane’s clockwise free weekday loop while the Herston Shuttle will provide a direct connection from City Hall to the Iconic Precinct at Herston Quarter next to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

“The Queensland Omnibus and Coach Society is proud to be partnering with Brisbane Open House to provide free bus shuttles using its heritage fleet,” Wilson told ABC.
“Two former Brisbane City Council buses will be used on the services allowing travellers to step back in time.”
Brisbane Open House Chair Malcolm Middleton says the two bus services form a very important part of the weekend’s events.
“Brisbane Open House is delighted to announce that we’re again partnering with QOCS to provide free heritage bus services to complement this year’s Open House program,” Middleton says.
“This partnership is now in its third year and is a feature of the depth and variety offered in this year’s program.”
