Qantaslink has announced it will increase services on its Mackay-Townsville and Townsville-Cairns routes from October 19.
Executive Manager Narendra Kumar says the airline will add an extra six weekly return services between Mackay-Townsville and Townsville-Cairns, and will also overnight an aircraft in Mackay.
“We are very pleased to be able to offer these new services, and provide business customers with the convenience of an early morning departure and same-day return,” Narendra says.
“The new Mackay-Townsville service will depart at 7.30am Monday to Saturday and return at 5.25pm Sunday to Friday,” he says.
“The additional Townsville-Cairns service will depart at 8.50am Monday to Saturday, and return at 4.10pm Sunday to Friday.”
These new flights are set to complement the network in Queensland by increasing the number of services to 25 return flights each week between Mackay-Townsville.
It will also enable 42 return flights each week between Townsville-Cairns, operated by both Dash-8 Q300 50-seat aircraft and Q400 74-seat aircraft.
“North Queensland is a cornerstone of our network and we are looking forward to continuing strong relationships with the Cairns, Mackay and Townsville communities and tourism bodies,” Narendra says.
QantasLink operates to 53 destinations around Australia and 22 destinations in Queensland, including: Barcaldine, Biloela, Blackall, Blackwater, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Charleville, Cloncurry, Emerald, Gladstone, Hamilton Island, Hervey Bay, Horn Island, Longreach, Mackay, Moranbah, Mt Isa, Rockhampton, Roma, Townsville and Weipa.
