The PTAANZ has announced who will take over from interim CEO Sue Chan
The Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand (PTAANZ) says it’s delighted to announce that its chief executive officer will be Lauren Streifer.
Streifer began in the role on Wednesday, with PTAANZ Chair Sally Stannard says Streifer brings extensive experience and expertise in the sector with a proven track record of driving innovation, growth and effective partnerships globally.
“Lauren shares our passion for emerging professionals and with her leadership, we are confident that PTAANZ will achieve new levels of success, championing public transport, helping our members to thrive and building collaboration across Australia, New Zealand and internationally,” Stannard says.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lauren to our team.”
Previously, Streifer served as Chief Executive at advisory firm Streifer&Co, where she built collaboration and advised leaders across Australia, the US and Europe in the transport, finance and technology sectors.
She also served as Executive Director at Roads Australia, doubling membership and driving industry engagement. Streifer joins PTAANZ at a pivotal time for the association and the public transport sector.
“Australia and New Zealand’s public transport industry is evolving into a more multimodal, integrated approach to mobility services, at the same time as the general public is becoming more aware of the massive impact public transport can have on reducing carbon emissions,” Streifer says.
“I’m excited to continue growing PTAANZ’s contribution to championing the future of sustainable mobility in our region.”
The PTAANZ Board of Directors also thanked Sue Chan for her work as interim CEO.
“Sue has made a highly valuable contribution to PTAANZ over the past nine months, leading the PTAANZ team through a time of transition as we strengthened our organisation and bolstered our membership benefits,” Stannard says.
“Sue has delivered new member offerings, engaged new members, delivered a number of highly successful events and leaves the association in a strong position to continue delivering our important work.”
