Volvo Bus globally launches B13R chassis

Volvo has virtually unveiled its latest chassis model

Volvo Bus Australia has announced that it has globally launched the new Volvo B13R chassis through a live broadcast on June 30.

Volvo Bus Australia general manager Mitch Peden says the new Volvo B13R chassis will replace the existing B11R product in Australia and New Zealand when it’s officially brought to the market in early 2023.

“The new B13R will be a premium coach experience and an improved productivity platform for our customers,” Peden says.

“It was developed with operators and drivers in mind and is designed to meet the demanding operating conditions of Australia.

“With a firm focus on safety, comfort and productivity, it has been designed to reliably meet any challenge and to safely power any journey.”

Volvo says the all-new B13R Euro 6 chassis provides a powerful engine, while an updated I-Shift transmission and a drivelines featuring several fuel saving Volvo technologies helps to reduce fuel consumption by up to nine per cent.

The Volvo B13R’s electric fans and unique cooling system also allow for extended service intervals and maximum uptime, according to Volvo.

Low temperatures are maintained in all environments to ensure that the engine runs under optimised conditions.

Volvo also says its B13R delivers a smooth and steady ride with a new and improved driver’s station making every journey a comfortable and safe experience for passengers.
