Scania-Higer for QLD school

School with growing roll and leap in inter-school sports commitments goes for Scania-Higer

A Cairns school now has a brand new Scania-Higer A30 that will be put to good use helping kids get to and from school and for the occasional camping adventure.

Peace Lutheran College transport coordinator Nick Hill-Murray says the new bus is making the daily school runs much more enjoyable and has already taken it on a trip to Townsville with the Year 11 students, as well as a staff excursion to Port Douglas.

Scania’s Cairns-based service agent RSC Diesel helped broker the deal and find the right model to suit the school’s needs.

RSC Diesel owner Ross Nucifora worked in collaboration with Scania Queensland bus and coach account manager Brian Thompson to deliver the flash new specimen.

Peace Lutheran College has grown in recent years and its catchment has also expanded, and its fleet is also growing to accommodate daily school runs and an increasing number of inter-school sport fixtures.

Families living further away from the college rely heavily on the local school bus service.

The Scania-Higer was fitted with seatbelts for all seats, including a few rows with three-for-two seats, to provide extra capacity for school trips when required.

The college is expecting to replace more of its existing fleet with Scania-Higer A30s in the years ahead.
