Hino hits Coffs

Hino expands network with new Coffs Harbour dealership offering late night servicing

Hino Australia has opened a new dealership and maintenance workshop in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.

Strategically located about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, the Coffs Harbour branch of Newcastle Commercial Vehicles will provide Hino sales and servicing in the major transit stop for long-haul intercity transport.

AHG Newcastle Group general manager Paul Tomlin says the new dealership represents a big step forward and would provide peace of mind for drivers and operators who run Hino’s between Brisbane and Sydney – in the event Hino buses need urgent mechanical repairs on-route.

The city itself is becoming an economic force in its own right and Tomin believes now is a good time to enter the market there.

“Coffs Harbour is a key location and an area of impressive growth, with the local population forecast to increase almost 30 per cent over the next 15 years,” Tomlin says.

“We’re delighted to have been appointed to represent Hino in the Coffs Harbour region, and we look forward to raising the profile and market penetration of Hino in this important location.”

Coffs Harbour Hino is open six days a week, and the parts and service department is open until 11pm on weekdays for Hino bus drivers who roll into town after dark and are in need of assistance.

The new dealership has a range of Hino models in stock, and demonstration vehicles for customer test drives are on the way.

Newcastle Commercial Vehicles is expecting strong sales of Hino vehicles, with anticipated population growth expected to boost both house construction and the demand for jobs and tradespeople in the area.

It is the second Hino outlet for Newcastle Commercial Vehicles, which already sells and services the brand at its dealership in Newcastle.
