After a long stint with Mercedes-Benz in New South Wales, regional sales executive Colin Coy has left the German marque to take on a senior role with WMC Group’s Higer bus distribution.

Coy joins Higer as National Sales Manager, an appointment WMC Group CEO Jason Pecotic says will take Higer to ‘the next level’ in Australia and New Zealand.

"Colin has extensive experience in bus sales and has a good knowledge of the needs of customers," Pecotic says.

"We feel having him on board will see further growth of the Higer brand in Australia and New Zealand as we set out targets higher in 2012."

According to Pecotic, Coy has prepared himself for any challenges Higer throws at him.

"I've always believed in the products I'm selling and over the years I have learnt what the customer wants and what the customer expects," Coy says.

"I really like the idea of where Higer is going in the future and I'm really excited about tackling the challenge of lifting Higer's presence further."

Coy sees Higer’s national dealer network and aftersales as a notable selling point of the Chinese brand.

"Higer has the support of strong backing and a sound dealer network and a committed board," Coy says.

"I believe in the products I sell and having such support behind Higer gives me confidence in the products."

Higer buses are manufactured in China utilising noted technology and components, including Cummins engines, Allison and ZF transmissions, Meritor Axles and European designed chassis.
