November 29, 2010

After selling locks, latches and other hardware in Australia for over 14 years, Southco has appointed McNaughtans as an authorised national distributor for Australia from 15 November 2010.

McNaughtans is a major supplier of hardware to the bus industry with an Australia-wide distribution network, based from Dandenong South with branches in Perth, Laverton, Sydney and Brisbane.

“Our Management team is widely experienced and have between them over

200 years within the industry,” McNaughtans General Manager Bob Platten says.

He adds McNaughtans has experienced strong growth since its inception in 2003, going from an initial staff of two people to its current staff of over 40 people Australia wide.

Platten says McNaughtans can supply its customers with almost everything they need on a ‘one stop shop’ basis, such as cam locks, hinges, gas stays, rotary vents, piano hinges, cargo track and bars as well as general body hardware accessories.

New developments include Southco locks and latches, tread plate, FRP plywood,

Honeycomb sheets, winches & straps, and ladders in 2 and 3 step configuration.

“With the exciting achievements McNaughtans has accomplished over the last 12 months, the company is steadily growing to be amongst the biggest suppliers to the industry,” Platten says.

“The appointment of McNaughtans as an authorised distributor of Southco’s product range complements the company’s Melbourne customer service centre and Technical Account Managers in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.”

Platten says Southco chose McNaughtans as an authorised distributor of its range because of its high standards of customer service and its wide distribution network spanning Australia.
