Scania opens Newcastle branch

Newcastle is now on the Scania bus and coach landscape with a new branch just opened nearby

September 9, 2010

Newcastle is now part of the Scania bus and truck network with a branch opening at Beresfield on the city’s north-western outskirts close to the Pacific and New England highways intersection.

The site at Enterprise Drive has a workshop with four bays and two pits, and includes sales as well as maintenance and a full range of Scania customer and vehicle services, says Scania State Manager for New South Wales Kasey Chetty.

“Scania will now be able to offer a very high level of support to its customers in the Newcastle region.”

Scania’s Beresfield branch is a refurbished pre-existing truck sales outlet.

“Our customers have asked us to establish a factory-owned Branch in the area and we have

responded to their requests,” Chetty says.

“We will bring a greater focus to Scania in the area, and this will lead to greater sales and service opportunities, particularly in the mining sector in the Hunter Valley.”

Scania bus and truck clients now have access to a second Scania-owned branch in New South Wales.

The Beresfield location is Scania’s second NSW branch after the Prestons site in outer-western Sydney.

“We will augment Scania’s business footprint in the region, building on a strong base comprising existing loyal bus and truck customers,” Chetty says.

“Newcastle is one of the fastest developing regions in Australia and is well positioned on the

east coast transport route.”

Scania NSW Account Manager Mick Elder will be part of the team at the new premises, reporting to Chetty.
