Custom Care opens a Gold Coast service, bringing back a former bus body building specialist as new state manager

Experience from 18 months of freelance bus body repair work around the Gold Coast has seen ex-Custom Coach senior staff member Rob Cridland return to the company as Custom Care’s Queensland Manager.
The Gold Coast service is just two weeks old, and Cridland says he is excited at the prospects.
Based at Custom Coaches’ Arundel production plant, Cridland plans to get out to clients over the next few weeks.
“It’s a good feeling and I expect to be very busy,” he says.
Just weeks into the new venture, Cridland will run the operation solo until business builds, but he has access to production staff at the nearby production plant.
The idea to expand the after sales, warranty and repair service into Queensland came from a survey of Custom Coaches’ clients in Sydney, recommending the service covers northern NSW and the Gold Coast.
Cridland says most clients at this stage are smaller operators, but expects to see after sales work from the larger operators coming in soon.
Cridland is no stranger to the company’s practices and policies, having worked for Custom Coaches production plant for 11 years prior to his 18 month hiatus as a freelancer.
During this ‘time out’ he realized there was a demand for after sales support in the region.
A conversation turned to an offer of appointment as the Queensland Manager, getting into new territory for a service which is currently supported in other states.
“I want to provide bus operators with value for money repairs and refurbishments, the highest quality workmanship, and delivered on time,” Cridland says.
“We have a team of people based at the Custom Gold Coast plant available for all bus and motor-home repairs and refurbishments.”
He says if parts aren’t immediately in stock he will source them for the client.
“No matter what model bus it is we can provide a full aftermarket package.”
