A popular Australian bus industry identity has been promoted to lead HVA’s King Long bus distribution

August 2, 2013

With the recent departure of Phil Ramsden from Heavy Vehicles Australia, the Melbourne-based company’s Chairman Simon Cowen has announced a new managing director.

He Leilei, known as ‘Lei’ to bus industry colleagues, has been promoted to lead management and distribution of predominantly King Long buses at HVA’s Somerton, Victoria, head office.

Cowen, who is also managing director of Melbourne’s Skybus, thanked Ramsden for his contribution to HVA over the last four years.

“Phil has developed a fantastic team and has overseen the introduction of key additions and enhancements to our product portfolio,” Cowen says.

“He has set a tremendous foundation for the company to build upon, and I wish Phil all the best and have no doubts that he will be successful in future roles.”

Cowen says HVA must continue to move forward.

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Lei He as new Managing Director of HVA.”

Cowen says Lei is already well-known to many operators and suppliers in the Australian bus industry.

“Lei has been with HVA from the company’s inception seven year ago,” he says.

“She has experience in every part of the business and I am very confident of her ability to lead the business to further success.”

Cowen says HVA has had many achievements over the years.

“By building on our strong customer focus and service delivery I am confident HVA will continue to grow.

“I will be working with and supporting Lei and HVA as she takes the company to the next level.”
