Tragedy strikes in Singleton as boy dies and two other children are airlifted to Newcastle hospital

New South Wales Police investigations are continuing today into the rare occurrence of a fatal collision between a truck and a bus.
The incident in Singleton, at the intersection of Church and Kelso streets, involved a prime mover and a school bus run by ComfortDelgroCabcharge’s Hunter Valley Buses.
It claimed the life of an eight-year-old boy.
The two badly injured boys were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where they remain in a critical but stable condition.
The four remaining children on the bus, as well as the 54-year-old driver, were all taken to Singleton Hospital for minor injuries and have since been released.
The 34-year-old prime-mover driver was not injured and is assisting police with their inquiries, police say.
