Peak bodies join forces to sound market on regional Victorian ZEB trials

The two associations have joined with Victoria’s DTP to let the market know of new opportunities with the state’s regional ZEB trials

Both the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) and Bus Association of Victoria (BusVic) have joined forces to advise members on the market sounding opportunity to participate in regional Victorian zero-emissions bus trials.

After the Department of Transport and Planning Victoria (DTP) announced the market sounding, the two associations have jointly advised members on the opportunity for ZEB suppliers, component suppliers, infrastructure providers and other relevant stakeholders to participate in the trials.

The DTP is conducting a market sounding activity to gather industry views and ideas to assist in refining its approach for enabling bus operators to trial ZEBs in regional Victoria through a structured, government-supported program.

The objectives of the exercise are to build market awareness and understanding of the project, understand current market dynamics, capability, capacity and appetite, and provide a high-level indicative procurement timeline for the project.

For further details, including the questionnaire and submission process, please refer to the official DTP documentation.

For members of either association wishing to complete the market sounding, please log in to the DTP website (or fill out an online registration form) to read the information about the various aspects of the market sounding, and then complete this questionnaire and lodge the submission.

The DTP has asked that all information be submitted by 2PM AEDT on December 22, 2025.
