Scandinavian operator Nobina has placed a major order for 103 electric buses, continuing the rapid expansion of zero-emission bus services across Sweden.
Announced on April 23, the order will see Solaris supply Urbino 15 LE electric buses for deployment across Stockholm, Skåne and Göteborg, with deliveries scheduled for mid-2027.
The vehicles will be distributed across key regions, with 50 buses allocated to Stockholm, 49 to Skåne and four to the Göteborg area.
The latest procurement builds on a long-standing partnership between Nobina and Solaris, which dates back to 2010 and has accelerated in recent years as the operator transitions its fleet toward zero-emission technology.
Solaris Sverige CEO Sverre Skaar says the agreement reflects continued momentum in sustainable transport.
“The contract for 103 electric buses ordered by Nobina marks another important milestone in the development of sustainable bus transport in Sweden,” Skaar says.
“Choosing the Urbino 15 LE electric means choosing zero emissions, but above all, comfort. We are very proud that Nobina has once again placed its trust in us, and we look forward to further developing our existing partnership.”

The Urbino 15 LE electric model is designed for both urban and suburban operations, offering flexibility across a range of route types.
Each vehicle will be equipped with high-capacity Solaris High Energy batteries, supporting extended range requirements beyond city centres and enabling operation on longer regional routes.
Nobina has significantly increased its investment in electric buses over the past two years, with Solaris delivering 201 electric vehicles to the operator since 2024.
By the end of 2027, more than 320 additional electric buses are expected to be delivered under existing agreements, reinforcing the scale of the operator’s fleet transition.
The latest order signals continued growth in zero-emission bus deployment across both metropolitan and regional networks in Sweden, with operators increasingly adopting electric vehicles to meet sustainability targets and service requirements.
Solaris, part of the CAF Group, has delivered more than 25,000 buses globally and continues to expand its footprint in the electric and hydrogen bus market.
The Nobina contract further strengthens its position in Europe’s transition toward zero-emission public transport.
