Since its inception in November 2018, the Moree On Demand service has delivered nearly 450,000 trips, including over 107,000 in the 2023–2024 financial year alone.
Transport for NSW acting regional director west Holly Davies highlighted the vital role the service plays in the region.
“The On-Demand bus service provides invaluable benefits by offering a convenient, door-to-door transport option for community members to access employment, healthcare, social connections, and everyday necessities such as shopping,” Davies says.
“This is a flexible transport solution, which allows residents to travel from or near their homes to their desired destination within Moree.
“As we approach the end of the current contract, our priority is to continue to provide this essential service for the community for the next five years.
“We’re running an open market tender that meets procurement standards and delivers the best option for the community.”
The service enables Moree residents to pre-book rides that connect them to local transport hubs and popular destinations, offering a safe, reliable, and personalised transport solution in a regional setting.
With the tender process now open, Transport for NSW is encouraging interested providers to step forward and help shape the next chapter of Moree’s successful On Demand network.
