Mercedes-Benz has released the latest products it intends to bring to this year's Bus & Coach Expo
At this year’s Expo, Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach will present exciting new technologies designed to increase safety and comfort while further improving fuel economy and emissions. It will present alongside its sister-brand Fuso, which will also focus on its new generation Rosa light bus.
Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach is already known for providing local body builders with a range of chassis options that feature the latest active safety systems. Its technology draws on the integrated safety technology of the Daimler Truck group through its huge research and development programs.
At the Expo, visitors can discover the new technology developments that Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach is keeping tight-lipped about. The company says it all points towards an offering that makes life safer and more comfortable for drivers and passengers while increasing efficiency and lowering costs.
Mercedes-Benz Bus and Coach will also provide visitors with a chance to take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the buses that have contributed to a rich local bus and coach history in Australia.
Fuso will also feature its Rosa bus –the only light duty bus to feature Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) technology. The Rosa can also perform full emergency braking in the event of a potential collision. Mercedes-Benz says its radar-based system can detect moving pedestrians and begin braking to avoid danger.
Rosa also features Lane Departure Warning System as standard, along with Electronic Stability Program, driver and front passenger airbags, height adjustable LED headlights, Hill Start Assist, a reversing camera, three-point lap sash seatbelts and four exits. Mercedes-Benz says it’s available in 22 or 25 seat specifications.
The new Rosa features a new and more efficient 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel common rail engine with the most power and torque in its class, making it an exciting option for Expo visitors to see.
