Australia Wide Coaches has taken delivery of one of the first Marcopolo G8 coaches to enter service in Australia, marking another milestone for the newly introduced coach platform.
The delivery follows the Australian launch of the Marcopolo G8, which was unveiled to the local bus and coach industry at a Melbourne event attended by more than 200 operators, suppliers and industry leaders.
Australia Wide Coaches was recognised as the first customer to commit to the G8 in Australia, highlighting the operator’s early support for the new generation coach platform.
The vehicle delivered to the charter operator is a Paradiso G8 1300 model built on a Volvo chassis and designed specifically for Australian operating conditions.
The coach includes features aimed at improving passenger comfort and operational efficiency, such as full LED lighting, onboard amenities, and modern passenger connectivity options.

Developed by Brazilian manufacturer Marcopolo and introduced locally through Australian bodybuilder Volgren, the Generation 8 platform represents the latest evolution of the company’s global coach lineup.
Industry leaders at the Melbourne launch said the G8 was designed to set new standards in safety, passenger comfort and operational efficiency for the coach sector.
Volgren CEO Thiago Deiro said the model reflects the company’s commitment to bringing globally developed products to the Australian market.

The G8 platform was developed to meet the operational requirements of operators across different markets, with two-axle and three-axle configurations available.
The adoption of the model reflects growing interest among charter and touring operators in modern coach platforms that combine passenger comfort with improved operational efficiency.
The arrival of the vehicle also signals the beginning of broader deployments of the G8 platform in Australia as operators explore the next generation of long-distance coach travel.
