Global bus operator Kinetic has announced that it is commencing additional government-contracted bus services in Perth.
As part of its long-term investment into Western Australia, Kinetic has added school services in the city’s south-east to its local operations through a previous acquisition.
Kinetic says the announcement supports its continued progress in the west and expands its contracted services with the Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia to deliver transport infrastructure.
The expansion also follows Kinetic’s acquisition of Perth company Dingo Bus last year and adds to a growing network of government-contracted bus services run by the operator.
Kinetic’s WA operations also include a leading charter bus that offers support to school, tourism, corporate and resources markets, which was bolstered with the arrival of a brand-new fleet of coaches in 2022.
Kinetic WA executive general manager Sarah Ismail says that Kinetic is committed to growing its partnership in delivering essential services to the WA community.
“As a market leader, we’re driven by our desire to provide safe, reliable and sustainable bus services, and Perth is an important region in our strategy where we believe we can bring significant value to local communities through investment and innovation,” Ismail says.
Ismail says that Kinetic’s long-term plans for Western Australia is to continue expanding its partnership to deliver bus services that communities can rely on and be proud of.
“I’m proud of what the team has achieved in the past two years establishing a local platform to allow for this,” Ismail says.
“We’ve made significant investments in our fleet, depot and people. As we focus daily on service delivery, there are further acquisitions we have in sight which complement our strategic plan and provide further opportunities for our people in this exciting sector.”
Along with WA, Kinetic also has long-term partnerships with Queensland, New South Wales, Victorian and Tasmanian governments.
